Craig Caldicott PositionSolicitor ProfileCraig is a founding member of the firm, and has extensive experience in criminal cases, both interstate and in South Australia. He has appeared as Counsel and as Instructing Solicitor in many high profile court cases, although he appears extensively in the District Court and Magistrates’ Courts in South Australia. Craig has been involved in cases as varied as drink driving, shoplifting / theft, through to murder cases. He was the Instructing Solicitor in the case of Polyukhovich, which was the first War Crimes case in South Australia, in which he was part of the successful defence of Mr Polyukhovich. He has appeared as Counsel in his own right in a number of murder trials in South Australia. In more recent times he has been Instructing Solicitor in the case of South Australia -v- Totani and Hudson and Junior Counsel in the case of Kamleh -v- the Director of Public Prosecutions, both very important High Court cases. Craig has been very successful in having charges against his clients either withdrawn or downgraded, with the end result being that his clients often receive very satisfactory results. Craig is called on quite regularly to give lectures to other lawyers on specialised criminal subjects, both here and interstate. He has a very good working rapport with both the DPP and Police, and is considered an expert in the criminal law. He currently holds the position of Senior Associate. Before working with Caldicott & Co, Matthew started his career as a Conveyancing Clerk, commencing in January 2005, with a large South Australian conveyancing firm. During this period, Matthew has successfully obtained a Certificate IV in Conveyancing, and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Conveyancing). He has been a Paralegal Member of the Law Society of South Australia since March 2008. Shona Hoskins PositionSolicitor ProfileShona has been employed by Caldicott & Co since joining the firm as a Law Clerk in February 2005. Shona graduated from Flinders University in July 2005 with Honours in a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and also with a Bachelor of International Studies in which she majored in Japanese. Since joining the firm she has practised in a wide variety of areas but now specialises in Family Law, Dispute Resolution, Probate actions and Inheritance disputes. Shona has appeared in a number of different jurisdictions and Courts and regularly appears in the Supreme Court of South Australia, the District Court of South Australia, the Family Court of Australia and both the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia and Magistrates Court of South Australia.
